So What Exactly is the Project Payday System?
Note: 2009 Update. American users only so if you are interested in this type of work and live elsewhere I suggest you look at CashCrate as the systems are much the same.
The system is about Incentivized Freebie Websites, or IFWs. These sites are not well known but have been growing steadily on the Internet. There are 100s of freebie sites out there and they are multiplying fast with new sites launched daily.
How Exactly Do "Incentivized Freebie Websites" Work?
Most of these sites give away electronics such as iPods and digital products (cameras, game systems, PC's, TVs, etc.) but other things too - designer handbags and clothing accessories for women, golf clubs and accessories for men, gift cards, and best of all, cash.
Most sites work like this;
You sign up at a free give-away site and fill out a "sponsor offer".
This is some form of a trial or other offer from a large company such as AOL, Blockbuster, Columbia House, etc. Some offers are free, with others you have to pay a small shipping and handling or other fee.
To get the freebie you must refer a number of people to the site who do the same thing. Once you have the required number of referrals you will receive their free gift.
This works because the website running the promotion is paid a commission each time they generate a lead for an advertiser.
ie. they might earn $50 each time they refer a new person to AOL even though the user only signed up for a free trial and didn't pay anything at all.
The Method
Get Paid to Complete Offers for Others
This is the quickest and easiest method to make money with IFWs.
You can make $50 in the next hour or two just by following these simple steps.
This method is great because it's very straightforward - you complete sponsor offers for other people who are currently working on earning free gifts at one of the various IFWs, and in return they will pay you for doing so.
At any given time there are 100s of people willing to pay you for completing an offer.
Step-By-Step Instructions
Here's how it works:
Visit one of the various "referral trading" sites (listed in Appendix) to find people who are currently paying for offer completions.
Their posts will indicate which sites they are working on, and how much they are willing to pay for your referral. Simply contact them to confirm the deal.
Once the deal has been confirmed, follow the referral link they will provide you and then complete a sponsor offer.
Receive your payment from them via PayPal. Presto! That's all there is to it!
Why This Works and Why People Are Happy to Pay You
This works because of the numbers involved. Let's look at the free Xbox 360 promotion from FreePay - a popular freebie site at the moment.
In the print at the bottom of FreePay's Free Xbox 360 Offer page, you'll see that it requires you to complete an offer and get 8 referrals.
The free premium Xbox 360 has a retail price of $399.
Even if the user pays 8 people $25 each they have purchased a brand new Xbox 360 for half price. Everyone wins.
This is why people will pay you to complete offers for them? It really does make a lot of sense if you think about it.
Ultimately this is all funded by the large advertisers being promoted by these sites. They pay the people running the IFWs each time someone is referred.
Tips for This Method
Offer Crediting
Many sponsors offer "credit" immediately, but some do not. With some it takes a few days to a week or longer before credit is issued for completing that offer. Credit card offers can take up to a month.
Stick to completing offers that credit instantly.
Trader Ratings
Before completing an offer spend a few minutes checking out the person you are referring for and make sure they aren't a scammer. The trading communities all use feedback and ratings systems, so this is very easy to do.
Scammers don't last long because once they start getting negative feedback no one else will trade with them. Still, always be sure to check a person's feedback or trader rating before doing a "deal" with them.
When you're viewing their posts, next to their name you will see something called a Trade Record. This is the number of successful trades they have done with others. Anyone with a Trade Record of 4-5 or higher should be "safe" to trade with.
Getting Paid
When you're just getting started, you yourself won't have a positive "trader rating" so some people will be hesitant to trust you.
This means that when you first start out you'll have to fulfill your end of the deal and do a sponsor offer first. Once they've seen that you've done it, they will pay you.
Once you have built up a positive trader rating and a good reputation for yourself, you can often get paid first. The rule of thumb is that in a trade, the person with the lower Trade Record "goes first".
Using PayPal
PayPal is by far the preferred method of getting paid, for both you and the people who will be paying you. If you aren't already a PayPal user, you should visit PayPal.com and setup a free personal account.
Completing Offers
Don't worry about sponsor offers that aren't entirely free.
The offers that require you to pay a small shipping and handling or other fee are more valuable to everyone involved, and this means that you'll get paid more for doing them.
You can't go wrong paying $5 shipping on an offer and getting paid $30 in return, especially considering the fact that you'll get paid the $30 weeks before you pay the $5 charge.
Credit Cards
To complete sponsor offers that involve paying a small fee, most people simply use their credit card. If you do not have a credit card you have several other options;
You can use any type of bank debit card (as long as it has a Visa/MC logo on it), you can get a PayPal debit card, or prepaid gift cards available at retail or online stores. Many people use the prepaid cards offered by Simon.com.
Give Feedback
After you've completed an offer with someone you should leave some feedback for that person using the applicable feedback or trader rating system.
Note: At any time you can also post that you are available to do offers for money.

Make Money Using Traffic Generation Trick
I won't try to sugar coat this. If you don't want to tarnish your Halo - stop reading now. For those of you who don't mind a sneaky, below board, questionable and yet successful technique for getting prime traffic and ultimately sales - well read on.
It has got to the point that saying hello to someone online is spamming them. Granted this type of spamming is tolerated more than sending out 10 million emails peddling something that promises to enlarge a certain male accessory. There is a huge spam gray area and the following technique certainly falls in the shaded tract somewhere.
If you have a website or blog then you probably have a stats tracking program of some type deployed on it. On this blog I use StatCounter.com. If you don't then you are missing one of the most important tools in a webmaster's arsenal. Everyday most of us continuously check our stats to see;
- how many people have been to our site
- how many pages have been viewed
- which pages are the most popular
- how long was each visit
- how many return visitors
- how did people get to my site
- what "keyword" was used to find my site
- etc...
Stats tracking provides us with a lot of useful info that we need to fine tune and tweak our online business. Of all the stats you can track none are more important than the referral tracking feature. Simply put, you need to know how people get to your page. This is traffic and traffic is still the single most important piece of the online money making puzzle. No traffic - No sales... period, end of story.
Most tracking programs will tell you what percentage of hits (traffic) came from search engines or other sites and then list each search engine or website that referred a guest to your site. This will tell us that someone queried Google using the keyword "make money" and Google instantly presented them with a list of relevant sites with mine at the top. (oh.. don't I wish!)
Sometimes the tracking program will show us that a website was the referring agent and not a search engine. This is usually a link to your site placed on someones site - a backlink. It's always nice when our hard earned backlinks produce traffic. Every so often you will find a website referral that stumps you. We find a hit from a website that we are not familiar with - we don't remember trading links but none the less there is a link to our site from an unknown site. A little inspection is carried out by clicking the referring link and examining the unknown web site.
In most cases you end up on a landing page trying to sell you something. You search the page high and low but can not find the link to your site anywhere. How did this page refer someone to your page? The answer is link spamming and I will show you how this is pulled off and why it is done.
Let's back up a bit and look at the larger picture. We will use my website as an example. I have a site that wants to give away free copies of The Ultimate SuperTip ebook. How can I do this effectively?
Adwords - for sure, but expensive. (for a free ebook - never)
Post it on a forum - this is cheap and a good way to find the right target audience but you won't get a lot of numbers usually.
Write an article about it and post it in a directory - this is cheap and works well but has limited numbers as well.
Contact every website in the Googleverse that has anything to do with making money online and show them a landing page promoting The Ultimate Supertip. Perfect!
Huh? What was that? How can this be done - email spam? Nope.
This is done by leaving your link on every website in your target zone. How? Let me show you.
First - decide what it is you are promoting and who your target audience is. If you are selling a product that grows hair there is no point in trying to sell it to teens looking for free psp downloads. I want to give away The Ultimate SuperTip and my target audience should be websites that are connected to the whole "make money online" racket.
To find your targets go to Google and query your main keyword for your product - in this example I will query "make money". This gets me a short list of 437 million websites related to making money. Not bad, might be a few potential customers!
All I have to do now is leave a link on each one of those 437 million websites pointing back to my Ultimate SuperTip landing page. Simple right - NO says you - that's impossible! Well you are partly right, it would take forever to send links to all of them but I can send links to say 5000 at a time. No way, says you. Yes way says I!
Here's how.
Every time you visit a website you leave a backlink. Most of the time the link points back to the search engine you used to find the website. Sometimes the link points back to a referring website you were on. The link is stored in the stat tracking (page counters) program used by most websites. When the website owner checks his stats he will see that you were there (your IP address), how long you stayed, what pages you visited and how you got there (Google, Yahoo, a website, etc) and the keyword you used to find the site. Ultimately you have left a backlink that does you no good what so ever. Now imagine if every time you visited a website you left a backlink (in the stats tracker) that pointed back to your site or landing page or affiliate sales page. You will get traffic! Lots of it! Why?
Think on this - when YOU check your stats you usually follow the backlinks to see where your traffic is coming from. So do other people. If you left a backlink on my website pointing back at your website, I would click on the link just to find out who you are and how you are linking to me. I guarantee that all small web operators do this. (websites with more than a few hundred hits a day likely won't check stats in this kind of detail but sites with less than this amount of visitors will check every detail - don't you?) Luckily there are a lot more sites with low traffic rather than high, which means this procedure works like a charm. The first thing a website owner thinks about everyday is - "I wonder how many people visited my site". If you visit them they will know you were there - guaranteed!
How to get "There"
(note - this can be done manually but I don't recommend it - it will take a long time to put together even a small list of just a 1000 sites. I use keyword elite to do this procedure automatically to generate several thousand sites at a time. I am not familiar enough with other keyword generation tools but they should work as long as they have a feature that allows you to create html pages and a feature that creates email lists for backlinks. If you do this manually just do 100 sites to begin with so you can see the results.)
Let's start simple. The easiest way for you to leave a backlink on my stats page is to put my link on your site (yoursite.com) and then click it. You will come to my site and leave a backlink pointing to yoursite.com. I check my stats, see your backlink, wonder who you are, click the link in my stats, show up on your page and see the link that you put on your site pointing to my site. Done deal - I leave and think what a nice person you are for linking to my page. (Maybe I stick around, check out your site... buy something?)
Lets get a bit more complex. This time you do the same thing but instead of your home page you put my link on a link page on your site. Lets call it yoursite.com/links. You click and leave a backlink - I see your backlink and click, here I am checking out your links page (ho hum boring) I shrug and leave - don't even bother to check out your site.
This last step involves the same procedure as above but with two different links pages. You FTP upload your yoursite.com/links page with my link on it, click it and then remove the link page and upload a second page that has the same name yoursite.com/links but is a landing page for your product. I see your link in my stats, click it and end up on your landing page. I look over your whole page and wonder where the hell the link is to my site. Ain't there - although I might notice what you are selling. I've just been spammed except I went to the spammer!
Now instead of just my link you upload a page with 5000 links on it to various sites in your target range. Click 50 or so, remove the page and replace it with your landing page. Go back later and upload, click another 50, replace pages. Repeat ad infinum...
I suggest 50 at a time but you can do as many as you like. (This is time consuming and you don't want your real links page up for too long or your visitor might see it instead of the landing page.)
Catching on folks.
Make sure you are selling something related to the websites you target. In the above example you might have got my interest if you were peddling something that makes money online. If you were selling a book on dog grooming you would have heard the sound of slamming finger on mouse.
If you are doing this manually don't bother with large traffic sites - they will never see let alone check your link. Start on page three of the Google listings for your keyword, these folks won't be getting a lot of traffic and will be sure to notice your visit.
If you use an automated system then this whole thing is a breeze. I doubt if the creator of keyword elite had intended the software to be used this way but it is an added bonus. Keyword elite will run a keyword search (ie make money) and compile a list of related keywords. I can then get it to compile a list of websites that it suggests I get backlinks from if I want to rank high in the search engines for each keyword. This is all above board stuff to be sure. The next thing keyword elite does is save all this info on an html page that it creates for me. Better yet it compiles the list of websites in hypertext on the html page along with a hypertext email link. The idea being that I can now email all these sites requesting a backlink. A nice feature and it even supplies an intro page for you to send. All I have to do is upload the page to my site and click the hypertexed links. Presto.
This nice feature also allows us to slide into the spam grey zone. Instead of using this feature to send them emails requesting backlinks, you instead use the links to set backlinks to your landing page. It takes a long time to build a link page with 1000 links on it manually. Keyword elite does it in minutes.
There you have it. This method might be frowned on but it works. The best part is that you target the optimum buyer for your product and this means higher than usual conversions. I of course do not in any way condone this type of marketing and am appalled that people do such things. I have presented this to you simply to illuminate the methods people use to get traffic. What you do with this info is your business.
Cheers,
Griz

Make Money - Monthly Review -The Winners
Update 2009 - This post is out of date - Disregard and move on...
I thought this would be a good time to recap the last month's achievements... or lack thereof. If you have been keeping tabs I have ventured into several different money making enterprises and posted articles on several of them. I would like to update you on the progress of these programs and recap my opinions of them. Needless to say but as usual more money left my wallet than I was able to replace but I was sucked into several new schemes that I just had to check out. I don't think us get rich quick "junkies" can resist the temptation to try out every crappy thing that comes along.
It's a Money Maker
In this category I would classify the following;
Free Viral Traffic Generator
This is basically a free upline/downline scheme that gets you traffic. I will grant you that most of the traffic is useless but a small fraction actually convert. In my case I haven't made any money directly from this program but I have a fairly good sized mailing list from it. The site I put on it gives away a free eBook on adsense if they sign up. So far I have almost 700 people on the list - not bad for a month of doing nothing. If I ever figure out something to sell this list will come in handy.
I have rejoined the list several times now with more of my sites. Traffic has slowly started trickling in and this time I'm trying to sell affiliate programs. I'll let you know if it generates any direct sales. I'm hoping it will as it converted sign ups fairly decently.
The Ultimate Super Tip
I love this one. It is turning into my best money maker. Every day I get a paypal message saying I just made another $10, some days as much as $40. This is unbelievable in the sense that I haven't promoted this hard at all. The guy behind this is very clever and it works like a charm. I keep meaning to spend a little time on this but I'm to lazy to work that hard. I am curious as to how much money could be generated with the Ultimate Super Tip, so if anybody can enlighten us - leave a comment.
Project Payday
I have mixed feelings about this program - it works fine but it takes work. I use it every day and make enough money to blow on other get rich projects. Don't get me wrong, the work is not hard by any means it's just too boring for me to spend much time on it. It is nice as a little cash generator when you need it. I can't imagine how much work would be entailed to make a lot of cash from it - I'm sure some people put in the effort and good for them. Not my cup of tea though.
The "freebie" process entails signing up for a web site which offers a product you are interested in, then completing a trial offer (such as AOL, Blockbuster Online, eFax, Columbia House, etc...) and finally referring X amount of people who must also complete an offer (the actual number of people required depends on the desired product).
Why do these companies give away products?
Well, they are paid by affiliate companies each time someone completes an offer. For example, if you sign up for a trial of Blockbuster Online, the company receives a commission for referring you. By requiring you to refer a certain amount of people, they are generating income to cover the cost of the free product.
Let's face it, it's not always easy to find people willing to sign up using your link and then complete an offer. Referral Swapper matches you up with other users who are also trying to complete free product websites. You can trade sign ups with other people to gather the amount of sign ups you need.
For example, you would like to get an iPod from FreeiPods.com. You trade with another user who wants a Sony PSP from FreePSPs.com. So, the other person signs up for FreeiPods.com using your link, and does an offer. You then sign up for FreePSPs.com and complete an offer. Now you each have one referral.
Another option is to pay people to signup with your link. For example, you offer $15 for people to signup on FreeiPods.com, and then pay them once they complete an offer.
Project Payday is really just a set of instructions and links. It tells you what to do and where to go. You can figure it all out on your own by joining one of the forums. The people making money with this are more than happy to explain it to the newbies - they need you as a referral and will not only tell you what to do but they will pay you to do it. Gotta love that. This only applies to you being paid for referrals. The other systems are a bit more complicated - ie. you pay other people for referrals to make even more money than you pay out. If I get ambitious I might explain how in another post.
Note: As of Sept 2007 the Project Payday course is now available for free. You can get it by simply trying out the system and filling out an offer on the Project Payday site and make 1 dollar in the process. I have cautioned against paying for this material in this post and several others but now that you can get the material without paying for it I would recommend you sign up and read it. - Grizzly
Ok that's enough, my fingers are sore so I will return next post with some of the losers I've forked out cash for.
Good Luck
Cheers,
Griz

In this category I would classify the following;
Good Luck
Cheers,

The Ultimate SuperTip For Making Money Online

Once in a while you come across a money making scheme that you just have to read twice. Not because it's poorly explained but because you can't believe something so simple could possibly work. For those of you who are new to this, Harvey Segal is a name you will run into often as you cruise the highways of online wealth building. He is one of those "gurus" you hear about so often - you know, the folks that are making a fortune on the Internet.
Harvey, like the other Gurus, makes a pile of money by doing the thing that the rest of us don't. He writes eBooks - all the Gurus write eBooks. If you haven't figured this out yet, think on this. If I write an ebook, even a real crappy ebook, and then post it on clickbank and then wait for the affiliates to start selling the dam thing - then I will make a lot of money. The best part is it will not cost me a cent to do it other than a little time and effort in writing the eBook. So why aren't we all writing eBooks? I can't speak for you but I am simply too lazy.
So how do lazy people make money on the net? We sell stuff written by people who aren't lazy. This arrangement works out rather well and I hate to admit it but there is a certain amount of fairness built in to the whole process. The people who aren't lazy make more money than the lazy person. Sure there are some affiliates who do make a fortune just selling other peoples stuff but they are not lazy - they work night and day to do it - good for them. Do they inspire me? Not at all - I wish I could hire one of them to do all the work for me. I only want to get rich by doing nothing - if I have to work for it then I might as well get a job. I want to prove that a lazy no talent hack like me can make money doing nothing. So far I have failed to prove this but what do you expect from a lazy person.
If I had a point this would be where I get to it. Oh right, Harvey Segal. I mentioned him because he has produced a program for people exactly like me... LAZY! I don't use the term brilliant often but this one takes the cake. I'm not even going to bother explaining it all as I can't do it justice. Lets just say that it allows the laziest person on the net to do about 1 minutes work and then sit back and have money rolling in. Ok - that's an exaggeration. I am the laziest person on the net and I did the 1 minute of work and the money isn't exactly rolling in - more of a trickle really. But hey, its still coming my way for a change.
If you are new to the game then read his pitch - the last page will blow you away. I mentioned brilliant earlier and this is why; Harvey Segal will give you his ebook "The Ultimate SuperTip" for free. So what you say - lots of ebooks are free. True but you can get this one without having to give him your bonafides - no email address, no name. Just no strings attached "free".
Fine, you say. So what's so special about his ebook?
For the answer to this you'll have to read it. (Be sure to read all the way through - the last page will floor you)
Update: 2009 - If you believed all that then you should read this now; The Ultimate Supertip

The Ultimate Supertip
Update 2009 - Here is another sales pitch that I wrote when I first started this site - aimed at making money off of people who don't know any better. Sadly enough it has brought in a few thousand dollars over the last couple of years. Why? Because people will always fall for the quick and easy promise of making money without effort or knowledge required. This program is still around and taking money off of beginners so I thought I would mention to those of you who see it - it really doesn't work if you discount the fact that promoting it has made me money. What does that mean? It means like most MMO programs the money is in selling it to others not in using the stuff.
I'd remove it but it's indexed and draws traffic from the search engines. Don't buy it though - just learn.
... end update.
If you are a beginner and want to know where to start without spending a lot of money in the online 'money making' racket then you should check this out.
I got an email last week from Harvey Segal about his new book, The Ultimate Supertip. I took a look at it, ended up reading it cover to cover... and I was completely floored!
Of course, it didn't hit me until the very last page (you'll see why when you read it), but when it did... I knew that this book was quite simply the greatest viral marketing idea ever!
You absolutely must check this out. It's free (really and totally free and you don't even have to give your email or name - brilliant), it's quick & easy to read... and it will open your eyes to an idea and opportunity that is truly unlike anything you've seen or heard on the 'net before.
'nuff said... read it (even you experienced marketers can learn from this - the last page will floor you too!)
